Review Time - The day I started to think by Sreeja Vinnakota

The Day I Started to Think
                 - Sreeja Vinnakota

‘I don’t believe in the kind of magic in my books. But I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book’ – J.K. Rowling

And here I present ‘The day I started to think’, a book which will make you believe in magic by the magical elements embedded in it. It is not about the Demons, Angels, Witches and Wizards from regular fantasy fictions; but it is something more creative, unique and truly mystical.

The story starts in rather a simple way…
A rich teen girl, who doesn’t get along with other rich kids, spends her time more with books, loves her family a lot, gets into a trouble; a trouble which she has no idea about. Her father being kidnapped, she is threatened to find a crown, something she has no knowledge about. But it is for the love towards her dad, she gets herself into the mission of mystic world and the puzzles are only increasing tremendously with time.

At one point, when she finally believes that things are falling into place, she again gets trapped and soon she realises her life is at risk. The journey towards the mystic crown, the love for family, a moral said to humans through some creatures, the magical realism, the unexpected twist at the end, everything together keeps you gripped to the tale.

The end will totally leave you confused and when you turn the page to find the answers, it will surely disappoint you because the author wants us to wait for the sequel.

We have so many unanswered questions, especially about her father, whom she is unable to locate till the end and the mystery is moved on to the second part. The sad part is even we will see his character only in the Prologue for the first and last time. I haven’t revealed everything in this review just like the novel itself, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.  This is a tale which holds readers to the plot and is sure to be reader’s favorite.

P.S. The cover pic is too deep and connected to the plot in a thoughtful way...
