Adieu To A Colorful Phase Of My Life - College Days
A special dedication to my college friends (D3 Lit.) And to my department - English Literature (NGM College)
It has started with: Every face is new, We trust only a few; We prefer to make colorful friends, But later shall we know the true color of friends; Privileged are the few, Yet we help rest of the crew; Having long days, Wanting for the week to end & Waiting for the class to wind up, Just to stay in home! Away from my campus, subject and class… We are under the shield of protection, Has made by staffs and seniors, with further perception; Days fold to months: Nothing gets changed! We hope for, Yet another beautiful day, Without knowing that, We already enjoy a wonderful day!! We take it as a pastime, Without realizing the passing time; Months have rolled on: We then make our minds clear, To find our well-wisher’s love over here; Lectures starts from the page, With us ending in an envisage; When the whole board studies with dedication, We find truth behind the aesthetic sense; By the time, we seriously admire the book, It’s almost a year, left behind to look; The months have molded into year, The time spend with our family is mere; Then comes the new year, And we are completely out of fear; The subjects are taught by our staff, While seniors teach us another half; We probably learn the lesson of our life, Sometimes so painful, as it twists like a knife; We get to know the betrayal and sorrow, Yet we hope for a better tomorrow; We find our seniors help us away from burden, But it’s their turn to leave us, all on a sudden; Finally entering into the final year, Truly unaware of the past two years; We are granted with everything, Have allowed to comment on anything; It’s our time to create shield for our juniors, With sharing a bond with staffs, so curious; Together we complete the department activities, Forgetting all our enmities; We sense the care, hid behind the scolds We admire the harmlessness, unseen behind the cold; Most of the hours are spent in the class, Yet true ones are found at the end of the pass; I have come out of my mother’s lap, Maybe to find rest on my friend’s shoulder; Indeed, The best place, Next to my mom’s lap; The best person, Next to my mother!! Nowadays, everything has changed, Years have crumbled to week; We have come to an end, Just a week has left to mend; It ends here with us: Longing for the days, With prolonged sessions; Waiting for the weekends, Just to flee form the home, Find nest with my friends, explore and roam… Here comes our farewell, With lots of promises, More of pain and Much of tears! Left behind are our togetherness and happiness, Taken with us are only the memories to make reminiscence; We may have a great life ahead, But with everything of the college life, shred! Why not another month, Just to listen through the lectures of my staffs? Why not another day, Just to admire the beauty of our campus? Why not another hour, Just to gossip and laugh with our friends? Why not another minute, Just to apologize for the mistake we have made? Why not another second, Just to think before I utter my words that may have harmed others? Why not another life, Just to live this phase of our life, after knowing it’s worth?! Now I can only wonder, ‘Why it is going to end like this?' There may be no one to wipe my tears, Oh sorry, it happens with you too, my dears!!
