Predominantly, for nice guys. ‘Nice Men Finish Last’ by Pravesh Vir Siddhu is about the story of a simple nice man, whose life changes its track with love and lust. The consequences leave him bewildered. This tale will indeed teach you something.

Shiva Nandan Sharma, Nandu, is the protagonist of the story. His life in this novel can be divided into three phases. The first phase begins as the story opens, but unfortunately with the end of his love tale. Nandu’s girlfriend Noor cheats him by choosing another guy. Nandu is unable to face the betrayal. He tries to make Noor come up with an explanation for which she complaints that he hasn’t had any time for her. Added to the pain, the so-called new boyfriend breaks him physically. We can see the melancholic trauma which is faced by the protagonist in this situation. He is totally down, often failed being cheered up by his friends. The pain which tears him from inside gets unbearable with the pass of each day.

It can be the best or worst; true friends will never leave you alone!! Yeah, so happens with Nandu having Sattu, Keshu and Shardul as his buddies. They try their best to bring the lost charm of Nandu and here, Sattu does something a step ahead.

Sattu makes all his flirtatious theories get into Nandu’s mind, who is hesitant at the beginning. But slowly he gives up his niceness on thinking that Sattu has a valid point. Nandu changes completely into a playboy, who encounters so many girls and to be said on precise, he gets addicted to the pleasure he gains from a girl in bed. Keshu warns him about what he has changed into, but looks it’s too late for Nandu. He doesn’t really mind the Karma which Keshu refers, but soon he faces the consequences when true love strikes him again.

Tanishq comes as a meaning in the life of Nandu. He falls for her at the very first sight and the love for her starts to grow each second. Eventually Tanishq gets the spark and love starts blossoming.

“The course of true love never did run smooth” – William Shakespeare.
